ADTC FAQ

How do I know if I am a candidate for Metabolic Activation Therapy?
If you suffer from Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes, and have any of the debilitating complications associated with this, then you may be a candidate. This is an important decision, and must be made in consultation with your endocrinologist.

How often do I need to be treated?
Metabolic Activation Therapy is performed on a weekly basis. The treatment sessions last approximately 6 hours. Our Centers are designed to maximize patient comfort during treatment.

Does insurance cover treatments?
Like any new treatment, insurance company policies will vary. We have an excellent benefits department who will work with your insurance company to minimize out-of-pocket costs. They will determine any copays and deductible required.

Do I still need to take my regular insulin dose?
Patients on Metabolic Activation Therapy still need to adhere to their daily insulin regimen. Many patients find that their insulin needs are less and are more stable.

What other positive benefits may I experience?
Commonly, patients report an increased energy level and an overall improved sense of well-being.

What if I go on vacation and miss my activation session?
Missing one week of treatment does not result in any loss of the effect of Metabolic Activation. Most patients will, however, notice the deleterious effects if they miss their treatments for more than one week.

Getting Started with Advanced Diabetes Treatment Centers
