Metabolic
Activation Therapy is a well-tested treatment
for diabetes that effectively mimics the action
of a normal pancreas. Performed on a weekly basis,
the process delivers steady, measured doses of
insulin to the liver, thereby enhancing the organs
function. By improving the function of the
liver, the treatment
enhances
the metabolism of the patient. By
correcting problems in the metabolism, the
treatment improves hypertension
control; slowing or even arresting the progression
of complications such as kidney damage, vision
problems, and slow-to-heal wounds; and increasing
energy levels. A patient arrives at the clinic
fasting without a morning insulin dose, then receives
intravenously a series of timed pulses of medication
over a one-hour period. The patient then rests
for an hour, and the process is repeated twice
more over the course of the day. Although the
treatment requires that about six hours each week
be spent at the clinic, patients who have been
unsuccessful at treating their illness with traditional
methods find the results to be well worth it.
